Picking a wig

At enviable we have a number of different styles of wigs to chose from. Our wigs are either made with a lace frontal or lace closure.

These are both hair pieces (constructed on lace) used to close off a wig therefore you don't need to leave any of your own hair out.

A lace frontal has a lot more lace covering from ear to ear while a closure comes in a variety of sizes but doesn't over as much coverage as a frontal.

A closure wig is recommended for beginners as it allows you to get used to wearing, caring for a wig and is less maintenance than a frontal.

Sizing

Our wigs range from size Small, Medium and large. The guideline below shows you how to work out your measurements for the perfect fit, you may find that some of your measurements aren't a whole number e.g 21.5 in that case your advised to round up to the nearest whole number. All our units come with adjustable elastic bands so wigs can be tightened or loosened to provide a better fit.

Hair prep

It is ideal to make sure you start wig prep with clean hair and scalp.

Next, you would need to braid your hair in cornrows or twists (as small as possible so its flat) this ensures your wig will look natural when applied but also protects your hair.

If your hair is not long enough to be braided simply comb it all back and secure with pins if needed.

You can then decide if you want to wear a wig cap, it is recommended to wear a wig cap if:

Putting on your wig

1. Hold the wig at the nape (where the logo is) with both hands and tilt your head forward

2. Position the wig above your eyebrows and start to slip the wig down in a front to back motion (take care if the wig is a frontal wig - avoid stretching or pulling the lace)

3. Push the front of the wig back until you have it positioned how you like on your hairline, use the ear tabs if the wig has some to help center it

4.Adjust the front and back of the wig to your liking and comfortability, you can extend or tighten the band if need be.
